Whew!

Yeah, I've been working on that damn pool house! I sometimes wonder what life will be like when I'm NOT working on something... Hmmm... Perhaps we will soon see!

I've got all the siding on now except for that bit by the door on the right, and the only reason I didn't get it on is because I need another section of J-Channel... Tomorrow I suppose...

Finally made it around the back, what a nightmare it was, but whatever, it's done now. I also finished the soffits today as well...

So yeah, who knows, I just may get this thing done soon! LOL!! It has turned out rather well I must say, but I'm OVER working on it, but can't quit until it is complete!! I'm going all out on it this week, we'll see how much gets done! :)

Fifth Grade Field Trip...

Today was the fifth grade field trip to Chattanooga. As Room Dad, I had little choice but to volunteer to be a chaperone. We had to be at the school this morning at 6:30, so I set my alarm for 5:00, but for some reason woke up at 4:37 and just got up fearing I would not wake back up if I went back to sleep... I of course went and made coffee as I normally do in the AM, heating up what was left from yesterday first because I MUST have coffee immediately upon waking, particulary at that hour... Checked online, e-mail, logged into my office, etc, then went and woke Chance up and off we went...

First stop was Ruby Falls. The three kids standing, Ryan, Chance and Brandon were my responsibility for the entire day. They took about ten parents per class, each parent had to make sure each of the kids they were responsible for were within "grabbing distance" the entire time. We had a good time at Ruby Falls, I'd been before, but it has been ten or fifteen years...

Next stop was the Chattanooga Riverboat Pier 2 where we had lunch. The lunch was tolerable I suppose. We were to go on a Riverboat cruise next, but the plans changed and off we went to the Chattanooga Aquarium...

The kids LOVED the Aquarium. I think Chance was one of the few kids who could get a butterfly to land on his hand. I managed to do it once and tried to show the kids how to get them to land on them, but then it was off to the next exhibit...

Chance LOVED the Aquarium. He took about four times as many pictures as I did, so perhaps he will post some on his blog... :) Yes, I realize he NEEDS a haircut!!

Last event was a ride on the Southern Belle... Of course by this time I'm OVER it! I think the reason I was though is because I wasn't able to smoke all day, I did sneak a cig in behind the bus twice as the kids were loading, but that was it. Just as well I suppose, but I wasn't happy! :)

LUCKILY I took a book with me! We rode on those charter buses, and of course the kids all brought their iPods, Nintendo DS devices and their PSP's... Plus they played a movie on the bus. I was immediately absorbed in a book I have wanted to start for some time: Ken Follett, World Without End. What a writer! I'm so into it now I feel like picking it back up right now! I won't though, because if I do, I'll read it all night and two nights in a row with little sleep I don't need! So a good time was had by all, and now it's time for me to go get some zzzz's... :)

Amazing SIX-Year-Old Singer

Wow! Yeah, I was going to go on a rant about the idiot American public who is buying into the whole "Depression" thing, but I won't... It's not complicated. In 1929 everyone didn't have cell phones, TV's, satellite, cars, blah, blah, blah... So anyway, this is probably better than the rant, and who knows if anyone would have even participated... :)

More Pool House...

Yeah, I'm sure everyone will soon tire of the pics again, but whatever, I'm determined to get this thing done SOON!! :)

It was freezing out today, okay, it was in the mid 50's, but the wind was blowing, and it was freezing to me!! Did make it around the side, and you can't really see it, but I got the steel mesh up on the bottom for the stone...

Another side shot...

Now I just have to get around the right door and do the other side and the back! I fear I may run out of siding though and not have enough for the back, EVEN though I went for stone on the bottom to conserve siding!! Oh well, I'll come up with something creative if that is the case, because I have to. They don't make that siding anymore, so there is no where to go get anymore... :)

So There We Were...

Merrily slapping siding on the pool house... Okay, maybe NOT merrily, but we were doing it. We? Yeah, Zach came over to help me again, he has turned out to be a great help lately! We had just turned the corner, and I was actually quite looking forward to moving around to the other side when it started POURING down rain, and of course I had all my tools outside, so we quickly put them all back up and had to stop...

So this is how I left it...

Hopefully it doesn't rain again tomorrow, because I REALLY want to get this done! We'll see... Not much anyone can do about the weather... So off to watch a few movies I suppose, and yes, unfortunately, ALL those people are still here! :)

Why Matt, Why??

Why I let three 'other' boys spend the night at the same time I have no idea...

But I do, and it's a constant getting up, "What's going on?" type of thing, but whatever, I'm about to put them all to bed... We'll see how that works out. Of course it will work out fine, because when I say it's bedtime, bedtime it is... :)

Thursday, March 27, 2008

Whew!!

What's that Matt you might ask, or not, whatever... :) If you recall, before construction started on the pool, we had to cut down about 40 or 50 trees... They have been laying out behind the pool area ever since. So about three days ago, Carolyn and I decided to clean it all up. We have been burning, cutting and clearing for the past three days and I might add we are both rather tired right now. To make matters worse, we finished this evening about sevenish to come in and clean up and watch Survivor. IT'S NOT ON!!! What a letdown! Basketball?? Who cares? I suppose millions do, we DON'T!! I'm sure we'll survive though... :)

Moving the firewood we had Cory split up for us last year took a WHILE! I think we have enough firewood now to last us about ten years!!!

I don't actually have a before picture, but if you can picture that area covered with trees and limbs, that's what it looked like about three days ago before Carolyn and I tackled it! Of course if you MUST see a before picture, you can peruse the old posts, there is one in there somewhere... :)

Tis done... Right where that little tree is standing is the center of where I am going to build my kids a playground. The tree will come down of course. But Matt, don't you have about a gazillion other projects going on right now you might ask? Of course, but why not start another? :) I've been promising my kids a playground for about two years, so why not start another project is my opinion!! We'll see how that works out! :)

Hillary WASN'T LYING! Bosnia gunfire footage discovered...

Pretty funny. Don't these people realize that everything they have done in public life has been recorded??

Easter Egg Hunt 2008

So this is THE Easter egg hunt on Easter Day... The kids love this for some reason. The video cuts off rather abruptly because my camera batteries quit... That's Bo barking in the background, he wants to join in on the fun, but we have to keep him tied to a tether now because if we don't, we have to chase him down the road, and I'm NOT doing that! Hope everyone had a great day!

Sunday, March 23, 2008

Yeah, That DIDN'T Happen...

What's that you might ask? Or maybe not, whatever... :) I thought I'd get the siding on the pool house this weekend, I didn't! I did get the soffit covered up though, and the connections for the flood lights done, but this is as far as I got on the siding:

Yep, part of two walls... Going to look nice though. Why did you start up so high Matt? Because I'm putting stacked stone on the bottom two feet, mainly because I don't have enough siding to cover the entire house, but hey, I got it off Craigslist for practically nothing, so that's why... :)

I also FINALLY got all the roofing complete. Although the only thing I had left to do was to cover the ridge and the corners, but at least it is finally done! I MIGHT have this baby open for business in the next month or so, we'll see...

Easter egg hunt part II... They cleaned up once again. I posted a video on YouTube, but it hasn't shown up yet, it might soon.

Early Easter Egg Hunt...

We decided to hunt eggs this morning as LeRoy and Timberly and the kids stopped by on their way down to Walt Disney World...

About to get started...

Scouring the yard for the last remaining eggs...

The kids with their loot...

Of course my kids say that we have to have another hunt tomorrow because tomorrow is actually Easter... :)

I Hate It When That Happens...

What's that you might ask, or maybe not, who cares, I'll tell you anyway... I was trying to grab stills from a DVD and it kept coming up blank. I tried for two hours to do it, finally got it. Not sure what it is, but if there is something that I can't do technically, I'm not happy, so I figure it out. I FINALLY did! Why did I want stills? Well, years ago, 1985 to be exact, Joel and I were extras in the movie 'The Sluggers Wife' and I just recently bought the DVD, so I was trying to grab the stills where we were in it. I think I was about 17, I guess Joel must have been 20, I still remember telling Boyd and Candy where we had been when we got back from the shooting of the movie. Kind of funny now that I think of it... Anyway, here are the two stills I grabbed:

See if you can spot me in this pic. Michael O'Keefe was heading up the stairs to go into the bar... Joel is standing next to me but you can't see him because I had so much difficulty grabbing the still...

The funny thing is, Joel and I had gone outside so I could smoke, which is the only reason we were even in the previous shot, but once Michael O'Keefe got in the bar, Joel was one of the bartenders as you can see from this shot. I was dancing behind the bar, but it's too dark so you can't see me.

Wow! Blast from the past! Joel and I spent two days shooting that scene, I think we got paid $35 a day, but we had fun doing it. Chance saw the scene, and he was like, "You were in a REAL movie?" LOL! I told him that yeah, I was an extra in a movie 23 years ago... :)

Enough of that... You want pictures of the pool house Jackie? Here they are...

Still not 'pretty', but hey, I'm trying... I got most of the beadboard ceiling in and got the ceiling fan hung. The only reason I did not get the rest of the beadboard hung is because I miscalculated and did not have enough... So I'll get more this weekend and finish it... :(

This is what I have been doing, the electrical and the plumbing... Nearly done though!

FINALLY got the water heater set. I was actually going to buy a water heater stand but they were $40 and I was like, "Yeah, I can build one for about five bucks." So I did... I'll have more pics after this weekend, hopefully I get all the plumbing done... :)

I Just Don't Feel Like It...

Although I probably would if there was more interaction... Blogging that is. I could go on and on about the Presidential race, we've not seen one like this in our lifetime and it is fascinating to watch. Obama's speech? Yeah, I could go on and on about that as well. I'm sure Bill and Hillary are cracking open the bubbly as I type, as is McCain...

Bear Sterns? Yeah, I could go on and on about that as well, it's a shame our government has put US on the line for 30 billion dollars so JPMorgan can buy the company for a song... I could actually go on and on about that for days...

Pick a topic, I can go on and on about it, but I won't...

I did finish the electrical wiring in the pool house, now on to the the plumbing, which will actually be easier than the electrical was, we'll see.

No, I still have no pictures, I'll take some this weekend. I'm off Friday, and then there are the Easter festivities this weekend, so that will be fun. Hope everyone is well, we are! :)

15Amps Or 20Amps...

So yeah, that's what I've been up to... Normally I wouldn't even bother, electrical work is quite simple, it's the "code" you have to follow... I've been working, working, working on getting the pool house ready and finally got all the electrical boxes installed and am ready to wire it all this weekend, but just want to make sure I wire it to code, because I DON'T want to redo it... Inspectors I might add can be quite different... Just like the deck, one told me, "Just build the damn thing, then we'll check it out" another told me, "We have to inspect the holes for the posts before you pour the concrete"... Government...

After checking all the codes, that is what I intend to do this weekend... :)

Yeah, I haven't much felt like blogging lately, I might have some pics this weekend, for some reason I have not been taking any... I need to though, as I have documented this whole process via photos, so I have to remember to take the camera with me when I start working... :)

Who knows, we'll see if I finish this wiring project this weekend, I should, we'll see! :)

Taxes...

How hard is it?? I hear people at work talking about it, I hear people on the radio talking about it, but it takes an hour or so unless you are an idiot! Three or four hours at most if you want to double check everything a dozen times...

I normally do my taxes earlier, but for some reason didn't get around to it until now... I reached into the bin where I put all the documents I've accumulated over the past year, and yeah, I have just as many as anyone else, if not more, and typed in the information into the software program... It really only took about thirty minutes, but I'm anal, so I double checked everything about three times and then hit file... It just makes me wonder about the people who say taxes take them hours or days... They either have to be complete morons, or they don't know where any of their documents are, or they are trying to cheat. Astounding!!

The Last Mile...

Okay, so it was only 55 degrees today, but I decided to get out there and get the power run to the pool house...

Well, I got it all in place, now just have to hook the wires up, but that is the easy part!!

I'm hoping to get the whole house wired, the plumbing all done, etc within the next few weeks so I can get it inspected and then start slapping the drywall up, etc... We'll see how that works out for me... :) Most of the rest of the stuff left to do is rather easy, just have to do it. As the weather warms though, I don't mind doing it AT ALL, but when it is freezing outside, I just can't, not sure why. So with any luck, within the next two months, I JUST might finish all this crap, then I can relax... Of course I THOUGHT I would have had this all done by Christmas, so who knows... :)

I Suppose It's Time...

To put up a new post that is... I haven't felt much like blogging lately, and so I haven't... :) Have I been busy? Well, not really, I guess it really all depends on your definition of busy... I've just been working around the house, trying to finish up inside and outside projects before Spring arrives! For some reason, I've not taken any pictures either, I suppose it's just too cold to be bothered with it! :)

Of course yesterday we didn't do much of anything but watch movies, which turned out to be a COMPLETE waste of time:

*Beowulf - WOW! This one is SO stupid, I'm surprised anyone even made it, and it cost like $150 million to make...

*Rendition - this one was actually pretty good, and it's the ONLY one we actually sat through the entire movie...

*Michael Clayton - Wow again! This one was so stupid, I fell asleep about 30 minutes into to it, which is just as well...

*Survivor Season Two: Australian Outback - of course we loved this one, even though we watched it when it came out in 2001...

Of course it was freezing out yesterday and snowing, of course none of the snow stuck, but today it will be 55 degrees again, so I suppose I'll finish wiring up the pool house, and with any luck, all the wiring will be completed, we'll soon see I suppose... Perhaps I'll take some pictures to post later... :)

03.04.2008...

Yup, it's that time of the year... :) To me just another day, but the kids are THRILLED! They asked me yesterday if I was excited about it, and of course I told them I was so excited I could hardly contain myself, I'd expound further, but they read my blog sometimes... :)

The whole affair lasted about 10 minutes... I never eat the cake when we have parties around here, just don't much care for sweets for some reason... Everyone else enjoyed it though, I got some great presents from Carolyn and the kids, and now it's back to work... :)

What have I been up to you might ask?? I'll tell you anyway... It has been warm here lately, so I have been toiling away on that pool house, I hope to get it done in the next month (or so)!! :) I'm finally to the point to where I am running the electrical and plumbing, once that is done, drywall and finish and it will FINALLY be done!! I don't have any pics of my progress, but I'll take some and post them... I only had a few pics Carolyn took at the party, but I bought these "batteries" that were cheap, put them in the camera, takes six pictures and then says replace the batteries... You get what you pay for...

On another topic, tonight shall be interesting seeing the results come in for TX and OH... I might have something to say about it, who knows? Right now though, it's back to work... :)

Did You Know...

That NEC and Alcatel recently pushed nearly 11 trillion bits per second down a single strand of fiber? That's about the equivalent of 1,900 CD-ROM's every second. Did you also know that every 18 months for the past 20 years or so they have doubled the previous record? Which means that by 2014, if the trend continues, they will be able to send 1.8 quadrillion bits per second down the same strand of fiber? Although recently, they have been tripling capacity nearly every 6 months, so that means that as early as the end of next year they could pass the 1 quadrillion bit per second barrier. The fiber is largely already in place for the most part, so there is not really that much of a huge cost to upgrade infrastucture. Mind boggling really...

What do these advances in technology mean? I don't even think we know or can predict, but they do predict that by 2013 there will be a supercomputer in place that will exceed the computation capability of the human brain. By 2023, the computer most people will be able to buy for $1,000 will exceed the computation capability of the human brain, and by 2049, that same $1,000 computer will exceed the computation capability of the entire human race... Absolutely amazing, and I can't wait!

It is also estimated that 1.5 exabytes of new, unique information will be generated worldwide this year, which is a LOT of information. Just to give you an idea of what an exabyte is, at the end of 1999, the sum of all human-produced information (including all audio, video recordings and text/books) was about 12 exabytes of data.

It will be stunning to see what people will be able to do with that sort of computing power at their command... The even funnier thing is, people that are currently studying technology, whatever they learn this year will be obsolete the year after next. The top ten jobs that will be in demand in 2010 didn't even exist in 2004. So pay attention to what's going on around you kids... :)

Leprechaun in Mobile, Alabama

The sad thing is, there are people like this ALL over the country... The even sadder part is, they all have the ability to vote...

5 Books That Can Actually Make You Stupider...

5. "Winning Lotto / Lottery For Everyday Players, 3rd Edition"

The title alone proves the retardedness of everyone who's even touched it three times over...

4. "How to Solve Sudoku: A Step-by-Step Guide (52 Brilliant Ideas)"

People like to believe that they're undiscovered super-geniuses because they can outwit the back page of a daily newspaper, which is why Sudoku are carefully crafted to actually be about as difficult as writing down your credit card number...

3. "More Joy ... : An Advanced Guide to Solo Sex"

The funny thing about this one is, it's actually a sequel...

2. "Supercharging Quantum-Touch"

In reality it's what happens when someone sees a copy of Scientific American in the trash while trying to think up an official sounding name for 'waving your hands mystically and going ooga-booga.'

1. "Much Ado About Nothing: The Restored Klingon Text"

This book is proof that a small but very profitable core of fans will buy absolutely anything connected to their chosen obsession...

Just a paraphrase, full article here: Article...

Brilliance...

How does one man essentially set policy for the United States of America? Not that he sets ALL policy, but he has certainly come a long way in being able to turn the political landscape more to his liking while wielding immense influence... So, who is that man you might ask... Not yet. How did he do it? That is a better question, the answer is simple, he pushed for legislation that would limit free speech and severely limit candidates from being able to raise money among other things... The funny part of it is, there are loopholes in the legislation that allow groups to spend any amount of money they want to smear the candidates they choose as long as they don't tell people who to vote for or against... Pretty clever actually...

Now, who was the legislator who was the one who got the legislation through the Senate, House and signed into law?

John McCain - Campaign Reform Act...

Who is the person who pushed to get it through?

George Soros - Soros' "Reform"...

"...Soros, one of the richest men in the world, backed campaign finance reform with huge cash donations to a wide variety of Washington "reform" special interest groups to accomplish what his funding conduit called an effort "to reduce the corrupting influence of very large donors" and to ban pre-election "issue advocacy" ads by groups like the NRA..."

Soros has given millions to MoveOn.org and other groups, but the latest is the icing on the cake...

"Former presidential candidate John Edwards and his wife Elizabeth joined MoveOn.org, the Service Employees union, VoteVets.org and other groups Feb. 25 in launching a $20 million Iraq/Recession Campaign that will target war hawk Republican presidential candidate John McCain and congressional Republicans."

The loopholes in the law championed by McCain, pushed by Soros, are now being used to setup a group to spend millions to do nothing but SLAM McCain from here until November...

Brilliant!!! On George Soros' part... McCain, not so much...

Not that this has anything to do with it, but I thought this was an interesting take on the failed Clinton campaign that may or may not be over after tonights debate:

The Clintons - Out of touch, out of tune, out of time...

So whether we want him or not, it may soon be President Barack Obama to you...

Spring Cleaning...

Yeah, it's a bit early for it, but hey, I will be outside here in a few weeks until I completely finish the projects I have going on outside, so I decided to reseal the slate today and get it over with. You have to seal the slate every few years, and it's been a few since I put it down, so that's what I did today...

What a chore it is I might add, but it has to be done... :)

It does look good once it's done, for some reason my camera is taking dark pictures, I suppose I should read the manual, but whatever, I probably just need to get another one...

Anyway, yeah, that's about it going on here... Trying to finish a few things inside that Carolyn wants done because in a few weeks, it's outside I go and I won't be back inside doing crap like this until next winter... :)

Blah, Blah, Blah...

That is pretty much what you hear from Obama... Nothing about what he will do, how he will do it, etc... Why am I STILL for Obama you might ask, or not, I don't care! Clinton offers nothing but divisivness, McCain offers nothing more than Clinton, McCain might even be more devisive than Clinton... Obama however offers, I know he says Change and Hope, but he offers ONE thing the others do not. The ability to bring people together! No president can destroy this country in four years! Look at Carter, wow! Did he destroy the country? No! Of the three though, Obama, Clinton and McCain, I STILL choose Obama over the other two...

Blast from the past...

So I've been transferring video from my video camera to the computer - WOW! Tedious to say the least! The files are SO massive as well, that little clip ended up being 124MB! Hopefully I'll figure out a better way to compress them and not lose any quality... I wonder how many of the tapes I have will even get transferred?? No, there isn't too much else going on, just cleaning up outside and getting ready to charge ahead and finish all the chores I stopped working on once it got cold, pics soon... :)

It's Down To Three...

This race to the White House has been something, that is for sure... I think what kills me the most are the people who rant and rave about some of the candidates when they have zero clue about them... "But Matthew, we want a conservative in the White House!"... Okay, who exactly would that be out of the three left?? McCain?? Whatever! I would rather have a Democrat in the White House than a person who claims to be a conservative, yet has proven to be a liberal time and time again... I could go on and on about how McCain has betrayed his party, but I won't, of course some of the people who read my blog may want that, who knows... I would rather have a liberal as President than someone who I KNOW will betray the trust of the conservatives, which is EXACTLY what McCain WILL do... So yeah, I'm for Obama or Hillary OVER McCain... I will for the first time in my voting life, vote for a Democrat over the Republican choice... Wow!

Happy Valentines Day Carolyn!!

I Love You!

Book Clubs...

Does anyone else join book clubs? I love books, I don't read nearly as much as I used to, or rather I don't read books nearly as much as I used to, but mainly because so many of the things I like to research are easier to do online. So anyway, I got something in the mail today to join:

the History Book Club...

Four books for $1 each plus shipping, which was $11.71, so in a few weeks I'll have:

*1776 (which I've heard was pretty good, forget who told me, think it was Titus)

*The Greatest Presidential Stories Never Told (looked interesting)

*The Great Warming (actually have been doing research on global warming, so might come in handy :)

*The Dangerous Book For Boys (how to make all sorts of things that appeal to boys, I'm sure Carolyn will be thrilled. Not sure what the book has to do with history, but I'm sure Chance and Tanner will love it!)

So if anyone else wants to join and didn't receive the mass mailing in the mail, let me know and I'll send you the code.

I've always wondered how the various book clubs even stay in business... I RARELY purchase anything beyond the initial offer, because most of the book clubs have the worst databases in the world and usually send me the same offer to join two or three times a year, stunning really! Seems like I have joined the History Book Club in the past, yet it still let me join again, and I've had the same e-mail address for about 8 years and the same address for about 7 years, so yeah, wow!

My Choice...

For President that is... Do I like him? Not really. Will my taxes go up if he becomes President? Probably... At this point though, I would rather see him get it than either Hillary or McCain, period! The thought of either of those two in the White House makes me ill! So unless someone else jumps in the ring, Obama for President 2008!!

How much harm can he do compared to the other two choices?? Some, maybe, but not NEARLY as bad as if Hillary or McCain were to get it...

School Dance...

Well, it's that time of the year again... School functions, field trips, etc... The kids enjoy them, I tolerate them... :)

Taylor and Sarah...

Tanner and his friend...

I'd have posted more pictures, but there weren't that many taken... Of course I was in the food line helping serve everyone because SO many parents volunteer to help out! Whoever was supposed to relieve me never even showed up, of course I could go on and on about that... We brought half the kids in the neighborhood with us because their parents didn't want to take them, so we ended up taking them. So Carolyn had to watch all the kids "stuff" while the kids ran around and participated in all the stuff going on, so yeah, needless to say Carolyn and I are GLAD we are back home now!! The kids have a blast though at things like this, so I suppose it's all worth it in the end...

Survivor...

It's back... Not sure why, but this is the ONLY TV show that we all watch together as a family, and have since 2000 when it started. I don't think we have missed a single episode, although we didn't start watching it until the second season, we did buy the first season on DVD... Anyway, it starts tonight, so everyone is pretty excited about that! Not a whole lot else going on, just waiting on warmer weather to arrive! :)

Chaos...

That would be the Republican party... I don't see how any of these people can beat the Democratic ticket, no matter who is on it. You have McCain saying that he is going to be the nominee, of course Huckabee is winning some of the Southern states and might actually win five or six of them as amazing as that is. Romney, not doing so good. I think the issue is the winner take all states! Why do the Republicans do that? They should do it like the Democrats do, proportional. Whatever, I'm not a party leader. I think the thing that will destroy the Republican party are the one issue, right wing nut jobs. They get all hung up on one issue, and by doing that, the Republican party will essentially have handed it to the Democrats... Of course the results are still not all in, but that's my take on it. I'll bet McCain wins the nomination, wow! Huckabee and Romney are fighting for the same votes essentially, and by doing so, they hand McCain the nomination because of the ridiculous 'winner take all' states... Wow! It is what it is, it will be interesting, that is for sure...

Back To My Obsession...

Not that I am AS obsessed as I was, but I got a reply back from the guy who wrote that book:

St. Thomas Church, Morgantown, Pa: A Parish History 1740-1990

He sent me a few files, I've responded back to him with more data so hope to hear more. Is anyone else interested in this stuff?? I did buy that book off of Ebay a few days ago, but have not received it yet. If anyone is interested in getting updates via e-mail when I find out new things, let me know, I'll put you on the 'list'... :)

It intrigues me to no end for some reason, why? I have no freaking clue... It just does... :)

Not Much Going On Here...

So I saw this article about how they might make an Arrested Development movie:

Jason Bateman Confirms Arrested Development Movie Talks...

Might be pretty good if they keep the same characters... :)

Of course tomorrow is the primary here, along with about 21 other states, hope everyone votes. Remember the discussion on Petra's site about how Obama was a muslim? Well, I e-mailed him to inquire, not expecting to get a response of course... I did though:

"Dear Friend,

Thank you for contacting us about false and slanderous rumors against Senator Obama. Senator Obama is a committed Christian and has never been a member of any other religion. He joined the United Church of Christ nearly 20 years ago and was sworn into the Senate on the Bible.

Please see the Senator's reply below. We encourage you to share it with others who have heard this story. You can also click here to get the facts:

Obama is a committed Christian.

Sincerely,

Obama for America

He went on to say:

"Thank you for inquiring about the false rumor circulating in cyberspace and fanned by the right wing media that I was educated in a madrassa when I was a child living with my mother in Indonesia."

More followed of course, if you want it I'll forward it to you... I'm sure it's his "canned speech" to whoever asks, but hey, I thought I'd ask... :) No, I STILL haven't decided who I will vote for tomorrow... Not that Obama would need my vote here in Georgia, because I think he will take this state on the Democratic side. I'll likely vote for a Republican in the primary though, come the General?? Who knows, I guess it depends on who is there to vote for. I suppose though, as I've stated before, it will come down to voting for who I dislike the least...

Yeah, I'm Watching It...

Why? I have no idea, I didn't have anything else going on... So I thought I'd watch the Super Bowl, here it is half time and I'm wondering why I wasted my time! This game is SO boring you can't make it up! The commercials have been SO stupid, I can't believe they paid $2.7 million for each of the 30 second spots... Wow! I haven't seen a commercial YET that was even mildly entertaining! I don't even like football, so not sure why I'm watching the game. I spoke to my neighbor earlier, he came over to get some beer. I told him I didn't know if I was going to watch the game or not, he told me he was just going to watch it to see the commercials, well, the commercials have ALL sucked thus far! I should go into advertising! We'll see how the rest of the game unfolds. Carolyn and I decided to head downstairs during the half time show, but I suppose we'll head back up once the third quarter starts, why? Who knows! Whatever...

May Not Be For Everyone...

I thought it was pretty funny myself though...

John and Jill were about to go into his apartment, and before he could open his door, Jill said, "Wait a minute, I can tell how a man makes love by how he unlocks his door."

John says, "Well, give me some examples."

Jill proceeds to tell him, "Well, the first way is, if a guy shoves his key into the lock, and opens the door hard, then that means he is a rough lover and that isn't for me."

"The second way is if a man fumbles around and can't seem to find the keyhole, then that means he is inexperienced and that isn't for me either."

Then Jill said, "Honey, how do you unlock your door?"

John proceeds to say, "Well, first, before I do anything else, I lick the lock."

Stimulus...

Pretty accurate I'd say...

So Anyway...

What can you say...

Thursday, January 31, 2008

I'm Obsessed...

It all started innocently enough actually... As you know I am toying with the idea of homeschooling Chance when he starts sixth grade because I can't bear the thought of sending him to the worthless middle school that he would have to go to, nor do I much care for the idea of sending him to any of the private schools around here because I'm not sure they are much better and I don't feel like shelling out a grand a month to have a different set of morons attempt to teach my son.

So anyway, if I do decide to homeschool I thought, "Why not have a name for the school?". Why not just start a school actually, then it wouldn't even be homeschooling?!? Matthew's Academy! So then I got to thinking, don't most schools have a crest? Then of course that led to the question, "Do we have a family crest?" "Have any of our ancestors had one?" On and on it went... Of course I couldn't find anything about any sort of 'family crest' or 'coat of arms', so then I was like, "Why would I even want to use one someone else made anyway??" I'll just make my own! Of course about this time I had become obsessed with finding out about our ancestors...

So I remembered that Petra had done some genealogy research, so rather than reinvent the wheel I asked if she had the data online or something. So Petra e-mailed me the file she had from a genealogy program, luckily the program I had downloaded for free was able to import the file... :) It was only a 30 day trial version though and I didn't like it, so I exported the file to yet a different format and imported it into a FREE program I found...

Legacy Family Tree...

Of course that whole process took practically all day long! Petra's research only went back to this guy though:

Johann Peter Gutlin (Goodling)...

Then I noticed that this guy: Evans C. Goodling, Jr was doing research on the descendants of Johann Peter Gutlin/Goodling and that he has even written a book about it:

St. Thomas Church, Morgantown, Pa: A Parish History 1740-1990

I actually found the book on Ebay and may buy it, but I'm wondering how long/far I should allow this obsession to go on??

So that's what I've been up to... :)

Funny Thing Is...

I'm sure that it would actually work... :)

Good Old Political Correctness...

I wonder what the media would do if we had this today:

1942 US ARMY/NAVY EDUCATIONAL COMIC STRIP...

I can imagine if they did that today and substituted Jap for oh, say, Muslim, terrorist, Islamic Radicals, you get the point... Maybe that is why we won WWII and are having issues now trying to actually win a war when our troops are hog tied with the whole political correctness horse shit. If you sent our troops into any area, with no strings attached, we could win any confrontation, throw in the 'strings', well...

How about this little gem:

The "friends" of the Clintons...

Seem to be a LOT of suicides there... I actually remember most of them happening, but they were all 'swept under the rug' of course because of the love affair the MSM has (or should I say HAD) with the Clintons... Perhaps I'll send that link to Drudge to refresh his memory... :)

I'd go on and on about McCain, but I think Pat Buchanan does a MUCH better job, and I don't have to actually write it... :)

What McCain Means...

As usual, he is dead on!! I heard him on MSNBC saying that if McCain wins, we will go to war with Iran, and I think he is right! Hell, we can't hardly even manage the mess we have in Afganistan and Iraq, that's ALL we need is another war, but that is what we will get with McCain...

I'll use Tanner's line, that's all for now... :)

Been Busy...

Well, not really! I put up a few ceiling fans and have watched a few movies... :) I NEED to get out there and start that damn deck, but I can't bring myself to work out in the cold, so I don't!! It is going to start getting warm here in the next few days though, so we'll see how that goes... Some asshole in our neighborhood ran over Nate's dog Lexi, it almost looks like he did it on purpose, broke her spinal cord and the asshole just kept driving. Lexi died and so all the kids were quite sad. I'm sure Bo will be wondering where his daily playmate is at as well. Tanner was quite upset about it and was just walking around outside yesterday crying and playing with Bo. Tanner and Taylor both made cards for Nate as well.

Bo was quite a bit smaller then than he is now, but he LOVED playing with Lexi! We'll miss Lexi, she was a GREAT dog, and I'm not even that much of an 'animal' person, but I did like Lexi!

I'm Sorry...

Is it THAT hard for some people to say? I think it is. Admission of doing something wrong. A simple 'I'm sorry, do you forgive me?' Not that hard. Some people however would NEVER admit they are wrong no matter what and no matter the cost. What brings this post up you might ask? Well, a lot of things, but mainly the reason is I accused one of my children of doing something they did not do, then realized that they didn't do it, and so I told them I was sorry and asked them to forgive me for accusing them for doing something they did not do. I was forgiven of course, and all is well. I'm just saying, is it THAT hard for people to admit wrong doing?? For some, I suppose it is...

Clinton, Obama Clash at SC Democratic Debate

It's six minutes long, but if you can stand it, I actually laughed through it, Obama does not have a PRAYER against her! She has been waiting for the moment that he decides to get in the mud, and he did, and that is where the Clinton machine has virtually no equal...

So Much For Super Tuesday...

Hell, Super Tuesday is still two weeks off and we practically already know who the candidates are for the general election, and it doesn't look promising AT ALL! On the Republican side, Thompson dropped out today, not that he had a prayer at all of winning, Huckabee is out of money and doesn't even have enough to participate much in FL and has virtually no money to go after the 22 states that make up Super Tuesday, so he is gone pretty much, who does that leave? Giuliani? Yeah, okay, he has been holed up in FL for so long, I think most people forget he is even running, I'll go ahead and say he doesn't have a shot either. That leaves Romney and McCain. I don't think either of them can win the general election, still hard to say who wins the nomination, although oddly enough, it is looking like they will choose McCain, who in my opinion doesn't have a shot in hell of winning.

On to the Democrats, who is even left? Edwards has zero shot, although he for some odd reason thinks he does. Obama came roaring out of Iowa thinking he had it locked up, but I guess they were all right, he is not experienced enough, and he failed to give the Clinton political machine the credit they deserve, so Clinton will likely be the nominee...

So in a Clinton - McCain or a Clinton - Romney contest, Clinton wins... At least I think so... Could be some more surprises down the pike, but wow. Hide your wallets if Clinton wins! That's all I have to say. You think we have fiscal issues now?? Have you heard all of her plans?? She wants to do the whole income redistribution on steroids. So yeah, should be an interesting next few years if she does win, I suppose our only hope is for an independent to run, like Bloomberg, who actually has the money to buy the White House if he chooses... Would be interesting if he tried, it would either prove or disprove my theory that the White House is for sale... :)

No, I don't have much going on. I keep wanting to get out there and start on that damn deck, but it's just TOO cold!! I HATE cold weather for those that don't already know that. So I've just been finishing up odds and ends inside while waiting and hoping for warmer weather!! We'll see how that works out. The funny thing is, I used to work out in the weather for years doing HVAC work, now it's all I can do to step outside to smoke a cig... That may be a good thing I suppose! :)

I see Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment today, and to switch through the channels on TV or the internet sites, this is FAR more important than the economy, the elections, 0r anything else for that matter... Which is what I have been saying for some time now. America's obsession with celebrity culture will have a big part to play in our downfall... When whether or not Brittany has panties on or the fact that Heath has died due to a probable drug overdose (so they say) is more important than the fact that the economy is on the brink of a major recession and the fact that the moron Bernanke dropped the Fed interest three quarters of a point in an unprecedented move or the fact that the idiots in Washington are about to 'pump' 150 billion + into the economy, likely by giving it to most of the lazy dumb asses who pay ZERO taxes so they will run out and buy new flat screens and other 'important' things is stunning!

The Unused Room...

Yeah, I have about a million things to do... Today however, I didn't much feel like doing any of them... I did download a song by Gene Watson that I have been listening to all day long though, and in fact still am... I know some people don't understand that, but whatever... So we have this room in our house that is pretty much never used, it's between the laundry room and the sitting room and the kitchen, wow! The floor plan of this house SUCKS! I've tried to correct it, but there is only SO much I can do! Anyway, I used to have a wall of photos in there, but had to take them down a year or so ago for some reason, so I decided to put them back up today... Off I went to Michaels to get some frames... We used to have a photo wall there, but have to update the photos and the frames... So that is what I did today...

Finally done!

I LOVE walls of photos!! I'd cover them all if Carolyn would let me... :)

So that's what I did today. Now I'm either going to go to bed or go see what the guys are up to. Marci dropped Canyon off earlier and the kids have been having a blast, but at their age you have to keep an eye on them! :)

Movie Reviews...

Okay, so hopefully if I WASTE my time watching an unwatchable movie, I'll save you the trouble of doing the same thing! So I'll update this as we watch each film...

*The Invisible: UNWATCHABLE!! Although we just spent the past 3 hours watching it... Yeah, it takes us a while to get through a movie because of all the breaks to get more firewood, smoke a cig, get another beer, get something to eat, tend to the kids, etc... :)

Next up: War...

7:42PM...

Well, we didn't watch War, we ended up watching the Wendell Baker Story... Wow! I suppose if you have ABSOLUTELY nothing else to do, watch it, but if you have ANYTHING else to do, it's not one to waste your time with. Matter of fact, it was stupid. On to watch War... I wonder if that will be any better?? I doubt it, but whatever, I'm not doing anything today except watch movies and lay around, plenty of work to do the next two days, although to be honest, I would rather have worked than watched the last two movies, we'll see how this one goes... :)

10:03PM...

Wow!! War is so stupid you can hardly make it up! So now I've spent the day watching these HORRIBLE movies! Whatever, now I am going to go watch Swordfish, because I know I like that one!

So Anyway...

Not much going on here... It's a pretty miserable day, wet, cold and snowing... They say we'll get 1 - 3 inches, but I don't think it will stick because the ground is not cold enough, we'll see though. The biggest 'struggle' is keeping the kids from tracking in the mud because they insist on going out in it, but they are pretty good about taking their shoes off and leaving them by the front door, hopefully that keeps up!

What are you going to do with your $800 or $1,600 that the government will soon send you? Not that it's anything new, the government has been 'buying' it's way out of recessions since the Great Depression. I'm not necessarily against giving 'tax rebates' to the people who actually paid taxes, but the VAST majority of the people who get them don't pay any tax at all! I'm certainly against income redistribution, which is exactly what it is! Take from the rich and give to the poor, of course if a Democrat is elected, there will be MUCH more income redistribution than there currently is... Good old socialism or Marxism, whatever you want to call it... Tax the rich, that is the mantra of every one of the Democrats who are running, not that the Republicans have done any better, they have spent money like drunken sailors over the past 7 years... Here is a fun chart that most people simply have zero clue about:

Many refer to them as the 'evil rich', because face it, poor people and people who don't have much don't much care for the 'evil rich'... So let's take from the rich and redistribute it to the 'less fortunate'. 'Less fortunate'?? Give me a freaking break, get off your lazy ass and do something... You'll never have anything laying on the couch watching TV, playing video games, surfing the internet and spending every dime you make on all the 'stuff' people like to buy and bring back to their 'boxes'... Of course you rarely hear that, it's mostly the tired rhetoric spewed by the likes of John Edwards about 'two Americas' and the 'class warfare' he keeps yammering on about... People are so stupid these days and so poorly educated that of course they buy into the whole thing, but people aren't getting any smarter, so I suppose it will continue... Well, I could go on and on about that topic... I'm sure everyone wants to hear about it! Whatever, I'll take my $1,600 dollar tax rebate, because it is a rebate for me as I actually DO pay taxes, and LOTS of them... :)

Speaking of laying around watching movies, I suppose that is what we are going to do for the rest of the day! So I better go start the fire and get started! :)

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah...

I haven't felt like blogging much lately, and therefore haven't... :) I'm trying to get all these projects around here done so it will all be complete come Spring, which is right around the corner I might add!! I'm GLAD though, because I HATE cold weather! Not that we get much of it, it was in the high 60's for the most of last week, although it is now dipping back down into the 40's and I'm sure it will get colder before it is over, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel!! :)

I did get a call a few hours ago from my neighbor telling me I better get over there because Chance hurt himself on the trampoline, so that was quite the adrenaline rush I must say... Because that was the extent of the phone call, I said I'd be right over, and hung up and flew over there expecting who knows what... LUCKILY there was more blood than damage, and once the blood was cleaned up, it was just a little gash on the back of his head. I guess they were jumping on the thing and Chance was 'showing Tanner something' as he put it, and it didn't quite turn out the was it was supposed to and he hit his head on the bar that goes around the thing instead of the canvas... He is fine though, but wow! We are just getting over dealing with his tooth thing! He gets his temporary braces off tomorrow, but he has to have a root canal done next week on that tooth that came out, so that should be fun for him - NOT!! I'll keep you posted on how that goes...

I'm FINALLY getting ready to slap that deck together, I had the lumber delivered last April to build the thing... Of course I had it delivered BEFORE we decided to put the pool in, so I guess that is a good excuse as to why it isn't done yet... :) Of course some of the post holes I have to dig, not that I'll be doing it by hand or anything, are RIGHT where the electric, phone, etc come into that house... So I called 811 so they can come out and mark where they actually are, I wonder if I'll have to move the posts over?? I can just see me severing the electric cable with the power auger, sparks flying and me electrocuting myself... Well, hopefully that doesn't happen... :) I can't imagine though that slapping the deck together is THAT complicated, we'll see how that works out...

Now of course we have the Michigan results in, and which one of these morons running for the highest office in the land do you want to see in the White House? I don't think any of them get it, nor do the great unwashed masses either! I think Pat Buchanan sees it though:

Subprime Nation...

People don't get it... With ANY of the Democrats, they want to spend 50 - 150 billion more dollars in entitlement programs that we can ill afford. No one seems to realize that the baby boomers are all about to retire and Social Security will kill us, on and on I could go, but Pat pretty much spelled it out, but no one seems to care... I'm still trying to decide who I want to vote for, but it will soon be down to two and it will be much easier to decide... I just hope the choice isn't TOO painful!

Well, I better go put the kiddoes to bed, hope everyone is well!

Questions...

Okay, so as many will know, Petra said to answer the questions, so I have... With the exception of the ones that were specifically for her... :)

1. Would you rather die of hypothermia or guillotine? Why?

I would MUCH rather die by guillotine because I can’t STAND being cold!! I'd rather be beaten to death, or pretty much anything else rather than freezing to death!

2. You have a long trip to make. You can ride a camel or a mule. Which would you choose and why?

I’d go for the camel because camels can travel for days without food or water.

3. Someone is making a movie about your life. What is the title?

Umm… That's a hard one. "What One Man Can Do, So Can Another: The Story of One Man's Journey Through Life"... I'm SURE it would be a huge hit! :)

4. You have done a great service for your country. They have given you the privilege of making one law of 50 words or less. What would it be?

Effective immediately! Anyone who gets any sort of government handout (I’d list as many as I could without going over 50 words), forfeits their right to vote!

5. You are an astronaut. You have your choice of destinations; any planet, moon, or asteroid in the solar system. Which one and why?

Perhaps I’d go check out Pluto to see why it is no longer considered a planet… :)

6. They are putting you in charge of a nostalgic TV network that shows only old TV shows that are no longer being made. What are some you would choose and why?

Seinfeld and Dallas... I'd just have an hour of Seinfeld and then an hour of Dallas, over and over and over... I'm sure it would be a HUGE hit! I'd watch it! :)

7. What is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen?

I suppose I'd have to go with the birth of my children as well. I have seen many, many, many of God's beautiful creations all over the world and they come in a close second...

8. If they were going to give you any country you wanted to be absolute ruler over, except the USA, which would you choose and why?

Saudi Arabia. Just for the oil of course, I'd sure do a lot of different things than they do with the $$$.

9. You have volunteered for an experiment where they are going to put you on an island paradise for a year to see how people get along with each other. There will be cameras everywhere broadcasting everything that happens to the entire world, assuming anyone is interested enough to tune in. You get to pick 9 other people to go with you, but they can not be related to you. Who would you pick and why?

I'd find four people who would go and exchange their work for the opportunity to actually spend a year in paradise, that takes care of the whole food prep, firewood, shelter maintenance, water, etc... The other five? I'd try to find five people who I could actually carry on a conversation with without my eyes glazing over while attempting to feign interest... If I was ABLE to find five such people, I guess they would be good enough... :)

10. You just won the lottery. Unlimited funds are now at your disposal. What would you buy first?

Tickets to a secluded five-star resort in a tropical climate... I'd immediately fly down there with my family and spend the next month planning on what I would do with the money... Not that I would need a month, but why NOT a month? :)

11. Someone has just given you an internet blog site on which to post anything you want. What is it going to be?

Well, like Petra said, I already have one, and DO post whatever I like... I'd be interested to know who actually asked that question... :)

12. What is one big goal you want to accomplish in 2008?

Finish all these projects I started last year and did not QUITE get finished!!!

13. What is your greatest regret?

Buying the house I currently live in...

14. What is your greatest lesson learned thus far?

Never trust anyone. (excluding family of course, well MOST family)

15. What ONE book (aside from Bible) would you take to a deserted island?

The Count of Monte Cristo

16. What ONE food item would you take? (Pretending that no matter what it was you would live)

Is Michelob a food item?? If not, I suppose I'd take a fruit of some kind, either watermelon, apples, grapes or bananas... I might get tired of it after a year, but I guess you'd get tired of anything after a year... :)

17. What do you fear the most, if anything?

I don't fear anything other than God... There are things I don't like, but fear?? No.

18. What is a character flaw?

I don't have any.

19. A character strength?

I'm one of the only people I know who doesn't play games, calls it like it is (or as I see it) and stands up for what I believe no matter the cost. I think that qualifies as a strength... :)

20. Who is your hero?

I don't have any heroes. I have people I respect, although not very many, heroes?? No, I don't have any.

Dwight Yoakam - It Won't Hurt/Today I Started Loving

Yeah, I haven't felt much like blogging lately... :)

So I thought I'd leave you with this song! Of course pretty much anything Dwight sings is pretty good... At least I think so anyway... :)

Not A Lot Going On...

Other than work, etc... :) I've had a lot going on at the office the past few days, other than that, I've just been watching the political proceedings and trying to decide if I even like any of them... I did clean the gutters out today... :) Our movie watching marathon is OVER! Thankfully, I can't believe I sat there and watched as many as we did over the holidays! Now it's time to get back outside and finish the pool house and the deck so that we can enjoy it come Spring! So I'm sure I'll have photos of that upcoming... LUCKILY it was nearly 70 degrees today and yesterday, hopefully the trend continues, because I HATE cold weather! So I really have nothing of any importance to blog about, I DO hope Obama beats Hillary tonight, we'll soon find out, I love this stuff! Politics that is... So I'm going back to watching the results come in... Hope everyone is doing well! :)

Our Next President...

I really don't care much for ANY of the candidates that are in the race, but we have to choose one of them... :) Of course come February 5th, it will be down to two, possibly three if someone runs as an Independent, and this year Super Tuesday will be the largest to date...

I think it really all boils down to who is actually electable, I also think this is an important election for our Country. One thing that really irks me though is to hear some of the candidates running around calling our Country a Democracy, when in fact we are a Federal Republic, so I think they should automatically be disqualified to even run, but I don't make the rules... :)

Here are the candidates stances on the issues:

2008 Presidential Election Candidates on the Issues...

More detailed views on a few key issues...

A HUGE deal with me are the ones who refuse to answer questions! Clinton comes to mind, she won't even bother to answer them at all, and when she does, they are scripted. I think that Clinton would be VERY bad for us, she is a calculating, dishonest and evil person who only cares about power and money, half the nation hates her, so we as a nation would be polarized again for at least the next four years if she won. I was SO glad Obama beat her in Iowa, and I hope he does the same in New Hampshire...

Edwards is a fool, he doesn't even realize that he is not electable, and keeps running around spouting off about class warfare, which is laughable in and of itself, loser, could never win...

Giuliani I don't think could win nationally. I know a lot of people like him, but he has a lot of baggage. I don't like the fact that every other word out of his mouth is 9/11. I think 9/11 and the security of our nation is a VERY important issue, but there are a LOT of other things to deal with as well... I don't think he could win...

Huckabee... Where did this guy come from?? Sure he won Iowa, how could he not have?? He would NEVER win nationally, and therefore is not a contender. Let's try and keep religion out of politics there Mike. We don't even have a clue what his stance on Iran is, he is against background checks when you buy a gun? Why? A constitutional amendment against same-sex marriage?? Really?? Of course that and the whole abortion thing will be the Republicans downfall, can't we leave that out of the race to the White House and leave things like that up to the Supreme Court where they belong?? The Republican base doesn't want to, and that is why they will likely lose. I'll pass on this moron...

McCain doesn't have a prayer either, he is too old for starters... Just go back to being a Senator John, matter of fact why not just retire?? His campaign finance reform bill is a disaster and has created far more corruption than if it had just been left as it was. His plan for amnesty is nauseating... I don't think he has a prayer either...

Romney looks like a President, but I don't think he has a prayer either, and I think it IS largely due to his being a Mormon (not sure why I capitalize that, I think they are a cult)... If I was running against him, I'd just play those South Park clips about Mormons over, and over, and over... Probably wouldn't have to do much else... He could end up being the Republican candidate, but I doubt it...

Thompson?? Please, this lazy moron doesn't have a clue... He has no chance of winning, THANKULLY!!! I used to think he might be good, until I've seen him in action, or non-action that is, since he announced...

Obama... This is who I will vote for. Do I believe in everything he does? ABSOLUTELY not!! I don't think any of the Rebuplican candidates have a prayer though, and if it's either Obama or Clinton, I'll take Obama every day of the week! I also think he is the ONLY candidate who can and has reached across the aisle, and not only been welcomed, but gladly! I think if he is the Democratic candidate, he will win by a landslide, the likes of which we have not seen in years. People like me, who never in a million years would vote for someone who believes the way he does, would vote for him just because they are tired of the polarization in Washington and just want to see something start getting done!! Rather than all the bickering and partisan politics...

So there you have it, my stance currently on what is going on with the race to the White House... Things change though, and November is a LONG way off, so my opinions could as well... We'll see... :)

Happy New Year!!!

I trust everyone had a great night!!

Mine started off with a bang! I forget exactly how it even happened, or who told me about it, but I think it was Chance... I spent I think the fourth or fifth night this year in the emergency room... Carolyn and I were watching a movie, and during one of our frequent intermissions, Chance came into my office and his mouth was bleeding, after checking, turns out they had been playing hide and seek, and Chance's hiding spot was the top shelf of the closet in the room across from my office. Well, when he went to get down, he fell and literally ripped his eye tooth right out of his mouth, dislocated one of his permanent teeth and tore his lips up in the process... Tanner found his tooth and brought it to me... So we called his doctor, and off to the ER we went... LUCKILY one of our neighbors had called right as we were leaving and told us to put the tooth in a glass of milk and they would be able to save it, she was right! So they did put his tooth back in, and he had five stitches on his lip, but other than that he was okay...

The "doctored up" Chance...

They did tell me they wouldn't play hide and seek anymore, I didn't for some reason tell them that actually playing the game was an issue, I guess I was too tired, who knows... So I guess it's off to the dentist in the AM for Chance if they are open, if not, then the next day... They put that plaster on his teeth to hold them in place until we can get to the dentist, we'll see how that works out!! I hope everyone else had a much less eventful and much more exciting night!! Not that it wasn't exciting or anything! Happy New Year!! :)
