07.07.07

Did you get lucky today? It's kind of funny listening to some people carry on about today... Just like they did about 06.06.06... I don't recall anything that dreadful happening on 06.06.06, nor have I seen anything all that remarkable happen today! Of course the day isn't over yet! :)

I didn't even realize about today's date until I saw your blog. lol We have had a pretty good day though - and a Mexican girl got lucky today! She ran into our van and drove off and we caught up with her at a gas station - turns out she didn't speak English AND didn't have a drivers license and had her niece and nephew with her. Britt was in the car when it happened (we all got out at the farmer's market to grab some berries and Britt and Jacob stayed in the van) and Britt just saw the car and not who was driving - since no one actually SAW her driving, the cop couldn't do much (said they could just say Julio (the owner of the car) was driving and he had walked off for a minute when we caught up with them). Anyway, he wouldn't let her drive so she and the kids walked home.... her lucky day b/c the car would have been impounded and she would have been arrested if Brittany had said "Yes, I saw her driving the car". Anyway... you saying 'lucky' reminded me of the cop telling her it was her lucky day - not that she understood him. But maybe the kids translated for her - they were bilingual. lol p.s. now we have some nice skid and scratch marks on the corner of the van. Adds character I guess. :) But we told the cop we weren't worried about that - we just called him b/c she was a HORRIBLE driver and had no license and we didn't want her driving again and killing herself and the kids. Anyway.

i definetly did NOT get lucky today. trying to get the rotten awning off the side of the house, turns out the idiots who built the the rooms over the garage added them AFTER the garage, and had completely roofed the garage.

they simply nailed the flooring boards through the roof shingles, tar paper, and galvanized metal. wow.

so now i have a MUCH bigger mess on my hands than i realized, and have no car, b/c it's in the shop and jackie's gone all day to a shower. so, no home depot. i'll try to figure something out...

at least my car isn't dented in though? :) too bad about that petra. i was rear ended by a mexican about 3 years ago, his wife was laying on the sidewalk bleeding, his daughter had a broken arm, and he just walked off talking on the cell phone. the cops were there straight away, and it took them threatening to put him in jail to get him off the phone.

meanwhile, as he was talking i called 911 for an ambulance and took care of his wife.

bastard. i mean really, we want to grant ALL these people a fast track to citizenship?????

I pretty much did nothing today, I'm too tired for some reason... Thinking of watching a movie, but not sure I even want to do that!

Yeah, I'm with you Titus! We want to just grant amnesty to ALL these people?!?!?! I don't think so! Luckily, we the people, were able to stop the amnesty bill. Of course if a Dem wins the White House in 08, consider the amnesty bill DONE!

Your home repairs sound like some of the shit the moron who built this house did! I've corrected SO many of the things he did you can't even make it up! What's wrong with your vehicle?

I too did not even realize the date until just now. But I had a lovely day. Slept in. Tried shushi and chopsticks for the first time (both went well) and then a lovely movie out. Then a delicious baked potato at home (becuase I'm ALWAYS hungry?)

I'm glad you had a lovely day Andrea! I just got through watching Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith... Titus was semi surprised that I was watching it for some reason... :)

I've actually watched all six of the movies, some more than others, but all multiple times. There is a bit of trivia for everyone... :)

Okay you watching Star Wars surprises me also. I mean, I can see you watching episodes 4, 5, & 6, but the first three??? I love Hans Solo though, but C3PO get on my nerves. In the first one - Jar Jar Binks - Are you kidding me?@! Anyway. I'm sure I'll watch them all again someday though b/c I'm a movie freak.

Wow. I'm sure that girl that ran into us and just drove off is probably already driving again. What can you do?

Andrea - sushi? really? it's RAW fish??!!! So gross. I tried it once and spit it out immediately. I'll never make that mistake again. Although we did have some good Chinese takeout today. Panda Express rocks. :)

i LOVE sushi!!!

the car is in the shop b/c it wouldn't start. it's either the battery or the starter, but i wanted to take it in and get a full system check - something we haven't done since we bought it.
