Ever Made a Movie??

My kids are getting into it, and I was just wondering if anyone had a favorite editing program once the film was transferred from the digital camera to the PC...

Yeah, I've used a couple for transferring my videos to DVD and for editing I have to say that Windows Movie Maker that comes with your computer works the best. It breaks up the video into each section (wherever I had paused it while taping) so that the editing is much easier. I just use Nero for putting it onto DVD after I save the videos. :)

Have you used any others? How do you transfer your videos from digital camera to PC? I bought something called Dazzle 85, seems to do okay, just curious what anyone else might use... Of course I know some digital cameras connect right to the PC, mine doesn't... You get what you pay for... :)

yeah mine connects to the PC with a 1394 cable. As for software, I use Intervideo WinDVD for downloading the videos.

I tried a couple others when first messing with it, but the generic Windows Movie Maker seems to do the best for me. I'm sure if I paid for something really cool I might like that better though. :)

Hmmm. . . my mom has some VHS tapes of a highly well-received, multi-awarding winner drama feature film about the death of a cow. Starring: Marci, Petra, Kendra, etc. Now, that was cinema!

I don't have a videocamera, so. . . no editing here.

Wow. I'm sure Aunt Cherry has some major winners when it comes to video collections. And where are all the cassette tapes of our radio shows? I have one of me and Kendra that my dad found and gave me, but that's it. I remember my character of choice on those radio shows being either a drunken bum or a 'streetwalker'. LOL!

I'm sure she has some 'good' ones... I wonder if anyone still has any of those old film reels laying around, forget who had them, I think either Aunt Gail or Cherry... They should have them transferred to DVD... :)

You should try this program Petra, muvee.com... It's a free, fully functional 30 day trial... So you can play around with it, and the finished product isn't limited, so if you are like me and have multiple computers, it could turn into like a 6 month trial... :)

I don't care much for the way the audio functions works in the XP movie maker, I like to be able to chop it up better than that... I do use Sound Forge to get the audio the way I want it, but sometimes there is a need to do it within the video editing software as well... I'm still looking... :)
