Good point, it is weird that even after history has proven that "spreading the wealth" does not work, people still spout it. Of course the people usually all for it are the ones that have not worked to earn the money.
History... Funny how many people discount it or don't even consider it, but you are quite correct. Taking from the haves and giving to the have nots has NEVER worked! Ever since our government started entitlement programs (welfare, food stamps, stimulus packages, subsidies, etc, etc, etc) they have spent trillions of dollars, and no one is better off, matter of fact, look at the recent disaster along the Mississippi, no one hardly is even paying any attention, why?? The people are helping themselves, not sitting in their chairs watching the flood waters rise and waiting on the government to come bail them out... Unlike the Katrina "victims", many of whom are STILL unable to help themselves three years later... STUNNING!!
Franklin was right though and I'm sure our Founding Fathers would be SHOCKED if they saw what was going on today...
The thing about the current horse race to the White House is I don't like either of them, and who knows, I may vote for Obama anyway, even though I know it will cost me... Because I don't like the alternative, I flip-flop between the two because I don't like either one of them...
