I wonder how many Americans even know what Memorial Day is about... I would bet that the vast majority don't have a clue... Picnics, cookouts, swimming, etc. According to some surveys, which can be made to say just about anything but can be insightful at times anyway, most Americans have zero idea what the purpose or meaning of Memorial Day is... I know what you mean. The boy scouts learn about it because they go and put flags on the graves in the local cemeteries. I watched a show last night on GAC that was good. Country music has some really good songs that remember why we celebrate memorial day.
I'm sure a lot of people don't know. Sad, really.
