So... I'm thinking of putting slate down around that flagstone instead of finishing with the flagstone. I'll cut a straight line on the flagstone, then make the slate level with the flagstone. What do you think? Why you might ask? Because I'm a cheap bastard, and I rather like the thought of slate at $.99 a sq. ft. as opposed to flagstone at $6 a sq. ft. :)

No opinions? I think it will look nice, so I think I'll do it... :)
sorry.... little late here!!!
FLAGSTONE for sure!!! It's going to be something you are going to look at for years to come... it's worth the extra bit of money. jmho!!
lol. I'm still toying with it, $330 or $1,980 + the cost of mortar/thinset may HEAVILY sway the opinion though... ;)
I DO like the flagstone though, but I'm SO over budget on that thing... :(
You are so impatient with your blog responses! Give us a day or so to realize there are new posts. lol! :)
I do like the flagstone better for that area. I hear you on the budget though, and I think since you've got the slate on the poolhouse patio and lower walls, you could totally make it work here as well.
p.s. Use 'networked blogs' on facebook, and a post will come up when you blog. I have your blog in google reader which I check every day (or every other day sometimes), but if it posted on FB, you'd get more readers. Of course maybe you already have lots of readers - I have way more readers than commenters. Not sure why so many people 'lurk', but lurk they do. lol
Haha! Yeah, I want responses right now!!! ;)
Yeah, I keep looking at the $$ difference and thinking, you know, I think that slate will be fine! Plus, I already HAVE the slate! :)
Yeah Petra, I just assume that people check the blogs everyday like I do (although I sometimes miss a day); but I guess not everyone is in front of their PC most of the day like I am... :)
I would just go with the slate - since it's much cheaper. It will look fine. Looking good.
eeeek that is a huge price difference!! But how much maintanence is on the slate? Doesn't it take more work to use the slate and how would the water from the pool do on the slate? Don't you have salt water? Wouldn't that get salt all over the dark slate?? just saying.... :)
Yeah, I think I have some lurkers too. But there is no way to tell... right? ahhh heck, I don't put anything too personal on there.
Haha! Yeah Joshua, I think I've already made up my mind, so not sure why I even did the poll... :)
Yeah Jackie, a HUGE $$ difference, especially considering that I have the slate already... :) I have a chlorine pool though, and the slate in the pool house and around it hold up just fine! So slate it is, thanks guys! ;)
You could always add a "counter" to your blog Jackie, I know exactly who comes to my blog, how long they stay, etc... ;)

It's free too... :)
